Self-Enterprisers Stand for Freedom (Part 2 of 2)
Continued from yesterday... DeMille continues: Imagine the impact on everything in our lives if each family could provide all, or even many, of its needs for itself—and do it better than kings or politicians ruling over working peasants or even corporations employing workers to produce goods and services. Such is the world of the mini-factory. I felt that I connected with all three of DeMille's proposals (no, I'm not going to give them away, here. First, it's not on topic; second, I don't wanna spoil your reading time); but I felt I was in the position to best serve myself, my family, you, and everyone else by focusing in on this idea of Mini-Factories. Really, I had already been promoting Mini-Factories for the past several years, just without my being aware of how the trend might directly relate to freedom on a larger scale. So, I created an online home/hang-out for people who were like me; a place for Self-Enterprisers. A Self Enterpriser is really a Mini-Factory founder who learns to create value from the core of who they are. What are your passions? What can you spend all day talking to others about and have more energy at the end of those conversations than when you started? When you find this passion of yours and then decide to find a way to create value for others using this passion, you, my friend, are a Self-Enterpriser. Once you know what your passion is, the trick to turning it into cash-money is going to become quite easy. It'll be easy because you'll use the road-maps that others willingly provide for you, AND because in both the ups and downs of your adventure you'll be doing what you most enjoy (okay, maybe what's SECOND on your list of most enjoyable things to do). In addition, the S.E. Projects and Interns-2-Owners™ areas of this site will soon feature real-life examples of individuals living their dreams out loud. I hope to see you featured here on the site, soon. Send me an email at Dave@SelfEnterpriser.com. Let me know what you've done, what you're doing, or what you'd like to do. --Dave CLICK HERE to learn more about Oliver DeMille's book and to download a couple of suh-weet freebies. Always a Better Way
I found 7,458 books indexed at Amazon.com's Listmania under the keyword search, "business;" 12,147 more under "money." If we were able to read every page of each of these books (we'd have a congressional bill? But seriously tho, folks...) we might be a little more informed, but we wouldn't get anything accomplished! As I always sometimes say, "You can succeed with just an idea and a rubber chicken." What I mean is while having a plan of sorts is important, I'm guessing many dreams of self-enterprise splendor have been displaced by always needing that one more tool, that perfect contact, just one more book, one more seminar. Pick a track to run on and and GO. Sure, we'd all like the perfect, infallible plan. But we need to get our ideas out there and put into action. So, grab a really good plan and get going. How do you make sure the plan you have is really good? Ha! Caught you! You're not listening! (Well, not you, but other people who read this). Scratch those last two sentences. DON'T make certain you have a really good plan. Get going. Look, if you're ideas hold enough value they will allow enough room for correcting course along the way (I've finally learned that if my ideas are valuable enough, I don't have to steel sleep away from my wife with my oh-so-exciting midnight presentations. Well, I've almost learned that). That said, I'll share my Good-Enuff-To-Get-Going Booklist* with you. (Yes, those are dirty dishes surrounding my WhiteBoard. No time for fancy photography and fancy backgrounds; we've got ideas to move forward!) I use this handful of books in every project I do; whether it's as a measuring stick (e.g. is this product or service naturally akin to a Tribe?) or as a step by step resource for getting started (e.g. Guy Kawasaki's 5 Most Important Things). *don't be fooled by the title of my list, these are great books. I just want to drive home the point that there will always be one better, but who cares? Let's get going now! --Dave Charbonneau Coming Soon: Interns-2-Owners. Follow along with a bird's-eye view as we move concepts from Mind-to-Market (on-the-cheap). Interns /apprentices will have the opportunity to build micro-projects and, if successful, become profit-sharing partners. (Interested in an internship? Give me a shout.
