Spreading Your Own Brand of Joy
The holiday season is a time for joy. And by the very definition of Self-Enterpriser, we find great joy in our work. This can actually create a bit of stress for us entrepreneurs. Often, we're wanting to expand our joy, (i.e. get some work done) and it can be increasingly difficult, depending upon the audience we're servicing. In addition to bankers keeping bankers' hours and traffic being heavy, it can seem that our customers' minds can go on vacation long before their actual vacation starts. Said another way, their focus may not be on you. Of course, there are ways to compete for that attention; but I'm not going to address that here, today. If your customers Christmas lights are on and nobody's home, realize that this is happening to others who share your target market. Since October I've been seeing Tweets and Facebook updates from people who are "gonna make 2010 the best year ever." So, we know they're planning - and we can guess that they've given up on making 2009 the best year ever (nobody you know is doing this, of course). In anycase, now is the perfect time to reach out to other enterprisers. Find out their plans for the next year and how you can create more value for them in a way that increases value for you. In your reachng out to touch someone, you can discover how to leverage each others' talents and spread your joy to the world. "Have A Nice Dave." :) --Dave C.
