Disruptive Innovation
The concept of Disruptive Innovation can be the best friend of the self-enterpriser. It gives us mental permission to challenge the BIG, established companies that ‘appear‘ to have a hold on the marketplace. The concept has been identified by Professor Clayton Christensen of Harvard Business School. He says that products and services that are popular within the established marketplace are often uprooted or displaced by products that are inferior in quality. It shows how free-market innovation acts as a catalyst for implosion of the status-quo; and what self respecting self-enterpriser doesn’t want to implode the status-quo? For My Crow Enterprise and our parent company, Applied Prosperity, Disruptive Innovation means that you and I can take our ideas and passions and turn them into real value; value that can be exchanged for dollars (It’s my money and I want it now!). There’s a bunch of videos on YouTube with footage of Prof. Christensen explaining his concept. I suggest you invest some time and check those out. In short, Disruptive Innovation means anyone can turn their passion into revenue. It exposes the illusion of big-business dominance and allows for any individual with an idea to establish their own presence in the market.
