Websites are gooder enuff…

There's a project I'm ready to start (FunnySaysWhat?).   This may be the most enthusiastic I've been about a project (that I'm actually ready to start on).   I figured that once I got started, I want to be able to stay focused.  Thus, I wanted to ensure I got some things in place for some current projects. Mainly, I needed to have some web-presence for AnthemVirtual and Up In Your Biz! - as well as for my parent company, Applied Prosperity, LC. Well, it's done. Yes, it could be done better. But it's not. Yay! --DC

Business, Busy-ness.

Business, Busy-ness.

Yes, missed a day or so on the ol' blog'azine.  Oh, I've got plenty I could have posted; I just wanted you to know that I'm human and that at times stuff comes up - just like it does for you. Well... maybe I don't have plenty to post, and maybe I didn't 'NOT post' in order to present some kinda philosophical premise.  But the part about "STUFF" is certainly true.  Hang with me, here.  I've been interviewing passionate business owners for Up In Your Biz! and getting some other groovy projects in order (I'll announce those, uhhhh... perhaps they'll be ready to announce by this weekend). Thanks for checking in with me.  Feel free to drop me a line at dave@SelfEnterpriser.com or text me at 304-548-9328 . --Dave C.

Simple Keys to Energy & Confidence

I realize what I'm about to say flies in the face of recent societal trends. We can witness daily, men and women across America and around the world who seem to advocate dodging truth, hiding from responsibility. In spite of this (and perhaps even to spite this), I've found the best way to progress AND gain confidence is to MAKE & KEEP PROMISES. It's a simple start, yet I've promised to keep going on both exercising (almost) daily and cleaning one room/day around the home. This keeps me healthy, keeps my wife smiling, AND (because I'm in the act of making and keeping promises) gives me a feeling of confidence that carries over into everything else. As far as confidence in business goes, the first step is to ensure value is being created; that's essential. With that value, the same principle applies: Make and keep promises. However, even when we're creating great value for others, we can have days when we doubt ourselves or our business. This is quite common. I mean, we're out there giving it all we've got and we can find ourselves exhausted; not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Sometimes, a rest is all I need. Some family play time, reading. I might practice the piano (just starting) or play a mindless game or watch a TV show. Rest is important. What I'm saying here is this: It takes energy to make and keep promises. It can take energy to bolster our own confidence in times of doubt. And, hey: Sometimes the confidence and energy simply do not show back up on Monday morning. When this happens, I find that simply TALKING about a current project - describing it to someone else or asking for the ideas of others - this engages me and renews my own excitement. This might be done with a friend or my wife, Renee (tho not typically on a Monday morning). If the timing isn't right to share with people I know, there are plenty of people on Twitter or Facebook to get into positive conversations with about prosperity. (Thanks, Tweeps. You know who you are). Now, with our energy boosted we can put it into making and keeping promises. With this combination of principles and habits being practiced, self-respect, the respect from others, and prosperity; it all increases. "Have A Nice Dave." :) --Dave C. …the end of the rainbow.

…the end of the rainbow.

Keep going.  If you're one of many who are searching for that inner-passion so you can share it with the world, keep going.  I gotta say, it's worth finding. And, if it's taking some time to find, it may be that the time it takes makes the realization that much sweeter.  I'll add this: Remember to enjoy the journey of discovery, too!  Open your eyes and mind like that 5-year old looking for an adventure (the looking is an adventure in itself). My passion is ideas.  I love seeing ideas move from mind to market; to go from valuable to one person to valuable to many.  I love the creative process ("We can do THIS, oh... and we can add this to it and that! AWESOME!"). In my own journey as I moved from idea to idea (and not really prospering, being in a state of perpetual starting), the TIME and the frustration of my apparent lack of progress finally led me to create SelfEnterpriser.com and the corresponding talk show, Up In Your Biz! So now, I'm spending my time getting to know others around my local town of Bellingham, Washington; learning about their ideas and how they've turned their passions into business.  As I'm doing such, I'm absorbed into that unique essence that every city or town emits.  As I get to know the people running the businesses in town, I get to know the town.  Coffee shops and intersections are already (after just my first week of video shoots) transforming into landmarks that remind me of the new friendships and interactions I'm creating. So, thanks to those who encouraged me to search for my own unique abilities and passions.  Thank you to the business owners of Bellingham for allowing me to get to know you.  This is a real joy. More than ever before I can say about being a Self Enterpriser: It's a spectacular life. --Dave C. Image Credits: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theslowlane/ | CC BY 2.0

AnthemVirtual.com Update #6

Serendipity? Providence? Good? Bad? If you've been following my project, AnthemVirtual.com, you know my partner in the project is my wife, Renee.  Well... make that "was my wife, Renee." Renee fired herself from the project.  This was tuff for me; as I was very excited to be working with my best friend and explorer of life.  I took the news kind of hard, even tho I felt that something better would come of it. The good news is that she didn't quit because of the project (sounds kinda like, "it's not you, it's me" doesn't it?).   She didn't quite because we were in any sort of argument or disagreement, even. Like the former Governor of Alaska, Renee's services and efforts were, she felt, better focused elsewhere. That said, I took a few days to re-assess where I was at and what I wanted to do.  On one hand, AnthemVirtual.com is ready to roll, with little else required other than individual persons (finding virtual agents, clients).  Should I go forward with it alone?  One morning the answer was 'Yes'. Then next it was 'No.' After a few excruciating days of this ping-pong match on the ol' brain-table, I decided that together AnthemVirtual.com, in the format it was in, was my best path forward if Renee and I were working on a project together. It just fit the talents of both of us.  However, on my own, focusing on SelfEnterpriser.com was the way to go, while shifting the AnthemVirtual.com model I'd built toward serving the forthcoming concepts found within SelfEnterpriser.com (namely, a concept I affectionately call, PFAT for Life). The new, upcoming AnthemVirtual.com construct may be on bed-rest for a week or two while I implement a new format for the talk show, Up In Your Business! and a new, weekly online chat group where we focus on The Business of Being Yourself,™  the PFAT concept, as well as live chats with featured guests. I realize this is vague as far as the details of the new project; the details weren't the point of this update.  Just wanted to let you know what was going on with the project.  If you just can't wait for the details to unfold, tweet me at @DaveCharbonneau . How to Conduct a Poll Using Gmail

Found (and used this tidbit from labnol.org Yes, No, Maybe? Conduct Opinion Polls Over Email using Gmail In some situations, a poll conducted over email may be more practical than running a web based poll because readers can vote through their email clients without requiring a browser. It’s as simple as replying to any other email and can be done even from mobile phones. Turn Gmail into a Poll Software Let’s see how you can quickly setup an opinion poll over email using only your existing Gmail account.  The suggested approach will work best for polls that have a single question as in the following examples: a. Will you buy a Macbook Tablet ? (Yes | No | Maybe). b. Which is your favorite search engine? (Google | Yahoo | Ask | Cuil | Other). ++++ DCsays: I used this just today. If you want to know how to conduct polls or surveys, or simply get Yes, No, or Maybe answers via email, check out the rest of  labnol.org's article, here. --Dave C. Image Credits
